All services, repairs, cleaning, and alterations are guaranteed to be of manufacturer quality and in accordance to UL Standards and guidelines.

GCS UL Verification Certificate

What Verifications Are Required?

This category lists repair service providers and organizations that have been verified to perform one or more of the following services:

• Outer shell repairs
• Thermal liner repairs
• Moisture barrier repairs to specific moisture barriers

Verification includes, but is not limited to, the inspection and testing of repairs to garment holes and seams, a review of the quality management system, and random unannounced visits to ensure continued compliance.

Verification of services is limited to the repair of structural and proximity fire fighting garment elements only. Repair services to other structural and proximity fire fighting ensemble elements (helmets, shrouds, hoods, gloves or footwear) are not covered under this service.

Requirements

The basic standard used to verify service providers and organizations in this category is ANSI/NFPA 1851 (2020), “Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting.”

UL CERTIFICATE

The UL Certificate is the only method provided by UL to identify repair service providers and organizations verified under its Certificate and Follow-Up Service. Repair service providers and organizations for which Certificates are issued are considered by UL to be compliant with the applicable requirements at the time of issuance. UL assumes no liability for any loss that may result from failure of the repairs, incorrect certification, or nonconformity with requirements. Certificates are valid for up to one year from date of issue.
