Who Are We?
Rick Johnson, along with Co-owner Tim Tomlinson was a founding member of Gear Cleaning Solutions. Mr. Johnson is a 19 yr veteran of the fire service and is currently employed as a Lieutenant for the Town of Addison Fire Department (Addison, Texas), where he was the PPE officer for several years.
Rick’s roles are establishing and maintaining relationships between the Fire Department and GCS. Rick has been instrumental in the education, and assisted in the implementation of numerous NFPA 1851 programs across the United States. He currently serves as an alternate voting member on the NFPA 1851/1971 Structural and Proximity Fire Fighting Protective Clothing and Equipment Technical Committee and Technical Correlating Committee.

Tim Tomlinson, along with Co-owner Rick Johnson was a founding member of Gear Cleaning Solutions. Mr. Tomlinson is a 17 yr veteran of the fire service, which began in California. Tim is currently employed as a Fire Equipment Operator (Driver) for the Town of Addison Fire Department (Addison, Texas), where he is currently the PPE officer.
Tim’s roles are maintaining relationships with vendors and manufactures, quality assurance, technical support and warranty programs. Tim also provides administrative support to operations of GCS. Tim currently serves as chairmen on the NFPA 1851/1971 Technical Committee on Structural and Proximity Fire Fighting Protective Clothing and Equipment and the Technical Correlating Committee on Fire and Emergency Services Protective Clothing and Equipment.
